I have worked with many clients dealing with life issues involving depression, anxiety, transitions, loss, grief, and conflicts in relationships. I try to assist individuals to identify their personal strengths to best resolve and understand that life consists of various challenges and to come to terms with issues that are beyond their control without being a victim. I utilize a systemic theoretical approach based in positive thinking, acting, and living. I start wherever my client is and allow them to direct their growth by providing them with options and encouragements.
As a systems theorist, I am willing to utilize any treatment method that is appropriate for the client and the client is willing to engage. I will assist the client in identifying any resources available outside of my expertise.
I think humor can be very useful when dealing with personal issues. Music also has many beneficial elements and can assist in the healing process. Clients are always encouraged to get in touch with their inner self through art, writing, talking, reading, music or dance.
