My name is Juan Ponce and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Currently, I am based in San Diego, CA but working with clients via telehealth. I have over 9 years of experience working in the mental health field. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, and I provide a culturally competent, non-judgmental, and safe space in which clients can explore their feelings. Throughout my career, I have worked with diverse populations and enjoy working with people of all ages. I specialize in working with issues of anxiety, depression stress management, mood disorders, and trauma.
My communication style is calm, empathetic, and understanding with the purpose of creating a secure and comfortable space for anyone to address their mental health needs. My motivation to enter the mental health field stemmed from wanting to be a support person to others as well as helping to make a positive and lasting impact in my community.
I have a collaborative approach to goal setting with clients that aims to work together to develop a plan to achieve their goals. I hope to be able to provide clients with the tools to better manage life's stressors and live a more balanced life through the power of therapy.
