I am a Clinical Psychologist who has been in practice for almost 30 years. I work with clients ranging in age from late adolescence to elderly adults. My focus is on how the brain, body and mind work (or not work so well!) together. I was born and raised in East Los Angeles, and I completed my doctorate at Pepperdine University. I have worked as a neuropsychologist, rehabilitation psychologist for those with physical disabilities and a drug/alcohol rehabilitation psychologist.
My general area of work, to put it simply, is "how to make difficult changes". Learning to deal with sudden life changes (injury, divorce, loss of family) can be just as hard as dealing with old "wounds" from the past. My job is to learn and understand your perspective. and then help you develop a new one that works in your present circumstances.
Some cases are harder than others, but my goal is help you make changes "sooner rather than later". I believe that your feedback to me is just as important as my feedback to you. I am a patient listener, and I have a good sense of humor. We will make a treatment plan together and make changes as we need to. Therapy is a collaborative effort!
