I work with individuals and couples who feel trapped in self-defeating patterns of anxiety, despair, and anger. This may be related to a traumatic experience or loss. Others may find that these disruptive patterns have always been there but are now making the choice to live life differently - one that feels more genuine and meaningful. Most feel that they are losing control of their own lives and that they are lacking balance in some very important ways. I specialize in interpersonal therapy to treat problems such as trauma, mood disorders, and chronic relationship difficulties.
My approach is interactive, accepting, and honest. Particular focus is paid to examining the role of important relationships in how we learn to see ourselves and what we come to expect in others. The goal is to ultimately help you learn to make more conscious choices and to follow through with them.
In addition to therapy, I provide psychological testing and evaluation to address problems related to memory, attention (ADHD), learning disabilities, and emotional/behavioral difficulties.
