As a therapist, I use an eclectic approach pulling from various methods to best meet your individual needs. I also work closely with other practitioners as needed. My clients often find me to be relaxed, empathic and nurturing. My style is marked by warmth, empathy, candor and a bit of humor. I work to build a respectful, trusting environment where clients feel confident and safe discussing their issues. As a state-approved clinical supervisor, I provide a safe, respectful environment for LGPC's to pursue their state licensure. I now have telehealth available for therapy as well as supervision.
The therapeutic relationship itself is the single most important predictor of successful therapy. Therefore, I am especially mindful of building this relationship by listening carefully to each client's unique needs and goals, and involving clients in decisions about their therapy. Biofeedback is available to assist with anxiety.
The emphasis is on creating a safe, supportive, non-judgmental environment in which to explore and develop insights into underlying feelings, issues and thoughts. Ultimately, the primary goal of therapy is to develop the courage to function more independently and confidently in all aspects of life.
