After college, I travelled to Chennai and Ethiopia where I practiced narrative therapy and photography. My experiences learning about eastern and western treatment modalities inspired me to move to Shanghai where I earned a masters degree in social work. As a queer woman, I have been in both the client and therapist position and have experienced and understand the need for better awareness on how to offer support and to encourage self-compassion.
I appreciate the uniqueness of each person and believe in a collaborative approach to treatment. The modalities I like to use when working with clients range from psychodynamic theory, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness based techniques. I also use empathy and humor to create and nurture a safe space.
