Successful psychotherapy is part science, part art. My goal is to help you to thrive and flourish. With an emphasis on your strengths, we work together to identify blockages and move you toward optimal health. We explore the patterns and behaviors which prevent you from reaching your goals. An ideal psychotherapy candidate loves to learn. You understand that the results of psychotherapy are a function of the constructive work that you put into your own process of self-exploration. Benefits from our work may include: healthier relationships, improved self-image, increased productivity and a better understanding of yourself.
My approach is eclectic, meaning: I practice with a humanistic, client-centered perspective. As needed, I am solution-oriented, incorporating tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness techniques into our work. I allow room for an Existentialist perspective.
Perhaps you already realize that unhealthy coping mechanisms may make you feel better -temporarily. However, they do not address the roots of your struggles or provide you with constructive ways of confronting life’s inevitable hurdles. Psychotherapy can.
