An important indicator of success in therapy is the therapeutic relationship and the key is the art of listening - to what you are saying, but also within the silence. I believe that you already have the answers you seek and in collaboration with me, you can begin your journey of healing and find the sense of peace you desire. I have extensive experience serving individuals who have been struggling with co-occurring disorders (substance use and mental illness symptoms occurring together). My expertise also includes mood disorders, disordered eating, pornography and sex addiction; and enjoy working with adolescents.
My passion is to walk with you as you process and heal from the pain of addiction and mental health concerns. Management of these issues isn't just about coping skills, but identifying negative core beliefs and challenging these beliefs with new ways of thinking.
I specialize in working with individuals of faith (especially, Catholic) who experience other challenges in addition to the mental health, trauma and addiction issues, as there is usually deep shame and guilt that are also present. Spiritual beliefs can be an important aspect to an individual's overall recovery.
