Men and women are different, and guys have very specific counseling needs. A lot of men cringe at the thought of counseling, and understandably so. My goal is to show the guy who hates the idea of counseling how helpful it can be and that masculinity isn't inherently negative. Being a man is a good thing and being a good man is even better. My PhD research was on help-seeking behavior in men. I know that making that first phone call seems terrifying, but you owe it to yourself to give this a shot. You owe it to yourself to be well.
I try my best to offer male-friendly therapy in a non-judgmental environment designed for the success of my clients. I strive to offer a collaborative approach to therapy that is simple and transparent. In addition to my counseling training, I have also served as a minister and a fire chaplain and have experience with military personnel and first responders.
I know you don't want to do this, but I also know that if you have come this far and are reading this, something in your life needs to change. I'm just regular guy with a wife and 3 boys. I like video games, tacos, and baseball. I also happen to have experience, knowledge, and passion when it comes to helping people be their best.
