The method of therapy that works best for this approach is one of my areas of specialization, and it is called Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). Whether you are hoping to recover from past trauma or abuse, whether you are working to overcome your depression or anxiety, to increase your self-esteem or confidence, you can do it, and we will develop a plan tailored to you. Alternatively, if you are seeking guidance or support involving a relationship, I'm happy to work with couples or families.
We will start by setting the correct goals to work towards. We will use solution-focused therapy to build upon your strengths. This method of therapy strives to get things done and helps you make changes as quickly as you are able to, to get you to your desired results. Yet, you can feel confident that we will move at the rate most appropriate to your needs.
In EMDR I have gone through this treatment as a patient and many times as the clinician. I warn that this process is not enjoyable, but the outcomes are worthwhile. I specialize in this, to the extent that other area clinicians refer their EMDR patients to me, but rest assured we will work to select the right therapy style for you.
