Making ourselves vulnerable is one of the most challenging experiences we encounter. We learn to protect ourselves in various ways, sometimes affecting how we interact in social settings when talking to our friends, family, coworkers, and romantic partners. Exploring these issues can be a daunting task - but it doesn’t need to happen alone. I aim to create a safe, welcoming space so that self-exploration and self-reflection don’t seem as scary and daunting. My goal is to build a relationship where you can experience trust, comfort, and feeling understood so that it feels easier being vulnerable with yourself and others.
I feel especially enjoy working with people of color and LGBTQ+ individuals and couples around identity, sexuality, coming out, and relationships. I use a psychodynamic framework to work with you as we we explore your presenting issues as well as the ones that arise in our work together - remembering that you are the expert of your story.
Dealing with anxiety, depression and other relationship issues can feel so heavy, it’s almost paralyzing. You're taking your first steps here as you search for a therapist. So as shop around for something that feels right, remember to be kind and patient with yourself. And when you feel ready to begin this journey, reach out and we can begin together.
