When working with clients, it is important for me to center the wisdom each individual, couple, and/or family bring to therapy. Starting from this place allows me to center and validate the experiences of my clients from an inclusive perspective. My goal is to balance trusting the client to make the best decisions for themselves and creating space for collaboration throughout the therapeutic process. My training as a social worker, marriage and family therapist, and educator provide me with the tools needed to guide clients through the therapy process. In my work, It is important to meet you where you are and let the tools follow!
My lived experiences as a woman of color guide me as I support you through your mental health journey! Even though parts of the therapy process can be tough, it is essential to my work to foster trust-building and playfulness when appropriate. I work through an anti-discriminatory and anti-oppressive lens and believe in being an ongoing learner.
Creating space in therapy is a passion of mine because of my continued desire to encourage reflection, start with the strengths, and be a thought partner with clients. My practice is currently virtual and I will be starting to take clients in person starting in December! I am excited to co-create this therapeutic space with you!
