While Dr. Walden has been trained to treat a variety of concerns, he has developed a niche working with the military and veteran population. The individuals Dr. Walden works with have experienced the worst parts of life and want to find peace.
While at the Bay Pines VAMC in St. Petersburg, Florida, he was trained and now is certified in the VA-approved evidence-based Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) designed specifically to treat PTSD. He also worked directly with veterans who were dually diagnosed with an alcohol/drug addiction and PTSD. Dr. Walden also treats grief and severe mental illness.
Dr. Walden works to be realistic and practical, and tailors all therapeutic interventions to the individual. He will use a collaborative, educational approach to help clients become their own therapists to ensure that all therapeutic gains are maintained in the future.
