Hi there. My name is Joseph Kaspar, PsyD. While I am flexible in my approach, I try to help my clients experience relief as quickly as possible. I am also willing to "explore the depths" with you if you are interested. I am comfortable treating most mental health issues, but I also have experience working with several specialty populations, including chemical dependency issues, law enforcement/first responder issues, and personality issues (like borderline personality disorder). I generally work with adults (18 and older). I provide (and enjoy) both individual and couples therapy.
I have discovered over the years that I am comfortable working with almost anyone. I have a lot of experience treating common mental health issues (anxiety, depression, etc.), but I have also treated clients with more severe and chronic mental health issues, including chemical dependency (drug and alcohol) issues.
I tend to be honest, direct (but gentle), and transparent when I work with clients. I enjoy what I do, and I believe my clients can feel that when working with me. I believe that therapy is most successful when we are partners in this process; your thoughts, feelings, and opinions are incredibly valuable and will contribute to your success in therapy.
