Reaching out to a counselor can be hard because it can feel like we have in some obscure way failed. But life is hard and that difficulty is not always distributed fairly. We can find ourselves stuck due to trauma, the stress of being a minority (or of trying to be a "good" minority), or because old methods of coping and problem solving are no longer working. I think counseling offers us the opportunity to receive feedback, to heal, and to try something new. As a counselor, I feel grateful to get to be a part of people's healing and movement towards something new.

As a clinician, I believe that growth and change happens best when you trust your counselor. While I can and will offer skills from DBT or help you work through trauma, I think it is unique gestalt of being heard, cared about, and challenged that ultimately helps us to move forward.

As a member of the queer community, I've struggled to find support and community. Counseling has helped me to grow into a better, braver, and more compassionate person. I'd like the opportunity to provide you with a place of safety that can serve as a springboard to grow, heal, and to form new relationships.

I work with clients working to unpack traumatic experiences whether that be something more traditionally considered traumatic or the stress of being a queer person.
