My name is Jonny Hiett. I am a licensed mental health counselor in the Seattle area. I moved to Washington to train at The Seattle School in relationally focused therapeutic approaches to counseling. Since then, I have worked multiple years in community mental health, supporting clients as they work to better their mental wellbeing. As I have practiced, I have become even more passionate in working with LGBTQ+ specific issues, religious harm, neurodivergence, attachment, depression, anxiety, identity, and trauma. I take an intersectional approach to therapy, focusing on the whole person to best meet their goals.
I operate out of a relational psychodynamic stance, giving extra attention to the relationship between the client and therapist. Through this relationship, we can identify patterns, feelings, and dynamics in order to bring about healing. I also use EMDR, frameworks from DBT, motivational interviewing, and narrative roleplay games.
