Hello there, my name is Jonney! I come from a Portuguese heritage and while I was born and raised in Northern California I've been living in San Diego since 2018. My approach is honest, collaborative, and I strive to work with individuals and couples to bring about their motivations for change. I work with adults who are dealing with challenges around life transitions, wounds from the past, identity, sexuality, grief, anxiety, and many other areas of focus. My hope is that by unearthing the roots of these problems, we can give them what they need to heal, and adjust how they affect your life in the present.
To have a meaningful therapeutic experience, it's of the utmost importance that you feel comfortable discussing difficult topics with your therapist. I am able to work with individuals and couples from a wide range of backgrounds to create a space where no topic is off-limits. Together, we can collaborate to understand the roots of your traumas or beliefs.
One of the things that brought me into this field was a curiosity to learn all of the different ways that people see the world. Your experience is uniquely yours. My approach involves exploring how your mind has learned to react to adversity, and recruiting your unique strengths to find another way, a way that's meaningful to you in every stage of life.
