People tend to find me thoughtful, patient, and kind, and my rigorous academic background and extensive clinical training and experience enable me to handle just about any situation with competence, confidence, and a calm, reassuring presence. I specialize in working with kids, teens, and young adults in both individual and family therapy. These younger clients often experience me as fun and funny, a relatable grown-up who "gets it," and I'm often told that I have a special knack for connecting with adolescent boys—even and perhaps especially those who haven't had positive experiences with therapy in the past.
Like many therapists, I use a variety of therapeutic approaches and am always continuing my training. My PhD is in couple and family therapy, and prior to that I completed the four-year training program at the Ackerman Institute for the Family here in NYC. I'm an AAMFT Approved Supervisor and work with the Secular Therapy Project as a therapist evaluator.
Alongside therapy, I've spent many years working in executive functioning coaching with children, adolescents, and adults, including college students. I'm intimately familiar with the NYC school system and often see students who need academic and executive functioning support alongside more traditional mental health care.
