I specialize in working with individuals who are struggling with substance use and/or family members and support systems of those who are struggling with substance use. I have additional training in trauma-focused counseling and have experience working with individuals struggling with mental illness ranging from anxiety and depression to severe mental illness. Having a combination of personal and professional experience helps me form authentic relationships with individuals and I desire to be an advocate for those who struggle to advocate for themselves, and to provide support to those who need it most.
I have experience in short-term residential substance use treatment as well as crisis intervention work and solution-focused brief therapy. I appreciate the structure and practicality of CBT and the hands-on, goal-oriented approach that is the foundation of CBT, while maintaining and integrating person-centered and strength-based lenses.
I believe every individual has the strength within themselves to overcome any adversity they are facing, and I am honored to walk alongside individuals as they discover themselves and work through whatever is weighing them down.
