I often find myself working well with creative individuals, self described geeks, teenagers in turmoil and inquisitive children. My unique brand of therapy is based on authenticity, compassion and collaboration while guided by a direct and pragmatic approach. I like to encourage self-care, building on personal strengths, while helping my clients in exploring their relational patterns and the significance of their dreams, fantasies and interests.
I have both experience and interest working with a variety of issues including: ADHD, ASD, Academic Achievement, Adolescents, Anger Management Cultural and Ethnic Identity, Father/Son relationships Feminism and Social Justice, Interracial Adoption, Psychological Trauma/PTSD Psychology of Horror and Fear, Social Skills, and Working Class Issues.
I prefer an interactive and collaborative approach to therapy and often use metaphors and comparisons involving my client's interests. I also employ a variety of unique approaches in working kids and teenagers, such as using tabletop and role playing games to build relationships and work towards treatment goals.
