So often change does not come easy, but with the right support and attention, progress quickly becomes more attainable. With 18 years of teaching and counseling experience working with individuals and families in Monmouth County, I have had success using activity, project, and nature-based approaches. Whether you are confronted with short or long-term challenges, I have found that these approaches efficiently build rapport and effectively begin the process of change.
By moving the body, meditating, or tapping into our creative and intuitive selves, we are able to get out of our heads and away from our challenges, even just for a moment. The more we practice these methods, the better we are able to change our situations or ourselves.
In addition to traditional in-home or in-community sessions, I often meet clients at local parks and beaches to hike, play, garden, or forage for materials to include in a project. Whether you are experiencing stress, anxiety, difficult transitions, or screen-time/gaming issues, it is important to communicate, confront, and move, in order to become unstuck.
