Counseling as a whole is in higher and higher need. We've seen inflation in Missouri and across the US, horrible things happening in current wars, and of course, there is the pandemic we went through that affected literally everyone in the world. We also have, what for many will likely be, a stressful election year. Even without these things, life brings its challenges, but add the stressors we've been through for over 4 years now, in addition to the personal stressors we face, and it only makes sense that many people just like you will benefit from additional support and professional help in processing through life's difficulties.
I am trained and certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help those who suffer from trauma. I also utilize Motivational Interviewing and Mindfulness techniques. Lastly, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) techniques to help address depression, anxiety, stress, and anger symptoms.
I've gotten feedback from previous clients that I deliver a good balance of humor, empathy, and warmth, but also polite confrontation and even pushing when it's needed to help you dig deeper and grow more.
