Most of my clients have used alcohol or drugs as a crutch over the years and that has progressed into a daily habit that becomes a way of coping with life. This eventually leads to excessive drinking and drug use and can cause chaos in a person's life...and the lives of the people that love them. My goal is to help you develop coping skills that allow you to deal with life's difficulties without picking up a drink or a drug. Life can be so much better when you are not tethered to a drink or a drug in order to get through your day.
I started working as a substance abuse counselor back in 2000. I worked in a treatment facility for 7 years...and have been an outpatient counselor in the Windham area for the last 15 years. I have helped many people over the years to start a path of recovery from their addictions. I feel blessed that I can help others find a better way to live their lives.
I have struggled in the past with my own addictions. I have been clean and sober since February of 1991. Many of my clients feel they can relate more easily to me because I have had my own difficulties in the past. I have worked hard to become a Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor...but I can also relate well with my clients because of my own experiences.
