Hi! My name is John Dosta and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I do talk therapy and I'd like to get to know you. A few areas in which I am familiar include veterans, anxiety, depression, divorce, child custody, and family relationships. I am most comfortable working with clients in the midst of high-conflict divorce/ child custody situations, anxiety/panic disorders, depression, reacclimating from military service, and substance abuse.
I prefer to use the psychodynamic approach, talk therapy. I believe that developing a deep understanding of the client is practically important when working with clients who are seeking significant behavioral change.
Recognizing that many aspects of talk therapy interact with other approaches and that each client is different, I am open to incorporating modalities including mindfulness, meditation, cognitive restructuring, and problem-solving. These are aspects of Dialectical Behavioral, Cognitive, and Solution-focused therapy.
