I am very passionate about the need in our community for therapeutic services that will help promote the optimal well being of children/adolescents and their families. It is my belief that focusing on the unique social, emotional, behavioral, and academic needs of each child is crucial for successful intervention. I provide a very compassionate and comforting presence which helps children, adolescents, and families cope with the myriad of problems, conflicts, and demands that young people and parents are challenged with in today's society.
I work with a wide range of educational, emotional and behavioral issues providing services that include therapy, educational interventions and on-going parent consultation. As a Certified Family Mediator I often work with chidren and families coping with separation/ divorce, and its aftermath. I conduct conflict resolution in all areas of family concerns.
For tweens and adolescents, I practice reality based therapy, Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and psycho-therapy that focuses on problem solving to make better choices in order to achieve specific goals. Recognizing thoughts, feelings and actions often helps to alleviate anxiety and boost positive emotions.With younger children, I utilize behavior modification and play therapy.
