I have extensive experience working with individuals and couples. Couple's work is helpful for restoring intimacy, closeness, and communication. Couples work can also be useful for one's individual psychotherapy as partners often help to bring attention to areas of life which have been neglected. Long-term relationships have ups and downs, multiple stressors, as well as developmental phases, which can rupture relationships. Couples therapy is very dynamic. A well-trained couples' therapist can bring a marriage back from the brink of disaster allowing an entire family to avoid the trauma and financial devastation of divorce.
Additionally, I have extensive experience treating anxiety and depression in individual psychotherapy, as well as working with relationship and professional issues. My initial focus is on creating a warm. safe, empathic environment in which you can settle in and tell your story without judgment. Individual and couples therapy can be life changing.
My practice is largely based on referrals from satisfied clients. I supervise doctoral students and other professionals. I have taught seminars to doctoral students and have served as Interim Director of the University of Detroit-Mercy Psychology Clinic. I am Adjunct Faculty at St. John Hospital, and Clinical supervisor at the University of Detroit Mercy.
