I started working in private practice in 2011 under the supervision of a neuropsychologist. While in graduate school, I completed advanced studies at the Indianapolis Gestalt Institute for four years. After earning my master's degree in mental health counseling, I received advanced training and a post-master's in addiction counseling. In 2014, I trained in psychodynamic group psychotherapy and joined a youth residential facility for adolescent girls. Additionally, I led an intensive outpatient program for addiction treatment. From 2015 to 2022, I taught at Huntington University and Concordia University Irvine in graduate counseling.
During my teaching career, I also served as a clinical supervision lead at the local community mental health center and a program manager at the local hospital, leading teams of 7-14 people towards clinical success. I have received advanced training in leadership development and counseling skills with Dr. John Townsend.
I'm as down-to-earth as they come and have taken the study of psychology very seriously. I've read hundreds of books, attended thousands of lectures, and have firsthand experience sitting in your seat, understanding how challenging the work can be on your end. I do not take that lightly, but I will still push you towards growth and healing.
