Have you or your child experienced significant trauma? After early trauma, children can struggle to attach to caregivers which can impact their ability to form healthy future relationships. Adults sometimes struggle when approaching difficult topics surrounding early childhood trauma, which can contribute to added barriers within the parent child relationship. While many adults are willing and motivated to help their children overcome adverse experiences, they may have their own unresolved trauma that continues to interfere.
My practice is centered around relationship focused therapies for young children and families. I have formal training in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and use components of attachment therapy, play therapy, and sandtray play therapy.
