In the counseling field I'm not sure if there is an "ideal client," However, I do believe there is an ideal therapist for every client. So, the question is, am I the ideal therapist for you? I have worked with many issues; however, have found that my specialties are in the areas of trauma (PTSD), personality disorders, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, addictions and eating disorders. The "fix you;" therapy is not something I do, as there is no "fixing" to be done. I will help you to identify: needs and goals, internal healing, and that all important balance that you seek. If this is for you then so am I.
While I offer services in many areas, my specialties are trauma, personality/mood disorders, anxiety & depression, addiction, & eating disorders. Through the use of ART, R/O-DBT, CBT, EMDR, and a client-centered approach, we work together to reduce the symptoms and behavior that is creating suffering for you.
As Scott Peck says, "Life is difficult. This is a great truth." (Scott M. Peck, The Road Less Traveled, 1978). The wonderful thing is that you no longer have to sit in that suffering. It can be released, unburdened, and symptoms can be reduced. This means that you can have a life of peace, happiness, and function.
