My name is Dr. Jocelyn Barton (Oklahoma license 1328) and I am a clinical psychologist with more than 12 years of experience helping people become their best selves. My style is warm, empathic, and optimistic. I utilize a client-centered approach (meaning that YOU are the expert on you) that will allow you to identify your own strengths and resources. I work with my clients to find the treatments that fit them the best, with significant experience using empirically supported interventions (like CBT and ACT).
Seeking help is difficult enough, and it's my job to make the process easier. My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety, insomnia, chronic pain, parenting, autistic adults, LGBTQIA, and military populations. My practice is primarily focused on individuals, but I will occasionally see couples.
For weekly goals, I think it’s important to collaborate with clients on ways to continue their therapy in between our sessions. That might look like practicing a coping strategy, experimenting with a behavior change, or just considering an idea or question that arose in therapy.
