Hi there, I'm Joann Meshamel a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and I have been happily working with clients all over sunny California for the past 8 years. I tailor every client's dialogue and treatment plan to meet their unique and specific needs. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and I am proud of you for getting started! My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client I work with. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and other therapeutic approaches as different modalities help me and the client build a shared understanding of their world. Allowing us to work together to chart a path forward.
I was a bit of a late bloomer to the therapy world, but once I discovered it I knew it was what I was meant to do in life. For as long as I can remember, I have been a great listener and a gentle communicator. I pride myself on choosing my words carefully and empathically which I believe is super important in order to do this line of work.
