I have always been interested in people’s stories, understanding how they see the world as they do, and how they have overcome challenges. Each of us has a rich, often complicated history that led us to the present moment. As a psychologist, it is an honor and privilege to get to know my patients’ histories, understand what got them here, and help them to be who they want to be in the world.
Psychotherapy is an art as well as a science. It starts with forming a trusting and genuine therapy relationship in which my patients feel heard, understood, and accepted for who they are. I then conduct a thorough assessment and collaboratively develop achievable goals based on the patient’s personal values. I use the most up to date evidence-based treatments to build on the strengths and skills my patients already have. We confront serious, sometimes painful issues while not losing sight of the beauty and humor in life.
My work involves helping people move from simply surviving to thriving and achieving a healthy balance in their lives. Whether the barriers holding you back are traumatic past experiences, dysfunctional/unsatisfying relationships, problematic behaviors, depression, anxiety, identity issues, or a general lack of purpose, I would love to hear your story. You matter. Call to schedule an appointment soon!
