You may be coming to therapy because of a particular problem – perhaps anxiety, OCD, or depression, or, if you're seeking couples therapy, perhaps a stuck point in your relationship. As we address that challenge and it becomes more manageable, your perspective may widen, opening beyond “what DON’T I want” (the problem) to “what DO I want” (purpose, meaning, connection?). Whatever our focus, my aim is to form a warm, supportive relationship that centers your needs and goals. We’ll probably find some things to laugh about – life is absurd sometimes! We can figure it out together.
About me: I'm not one of those stare-silently-and-take-mysterious-notes kinds of therapists. We'll both be asking questions, testing theories, and trying things out. You may sense my lawyer background as I synthesize what you’re telling me and check if I’ve got it all right. I’m also hard to shock – I've heard a lot, and it’s all sounded pretty human to me.
I incorporate several therapeutic modalities, including structured CBT tools and more open-ended psychodynamic and relational approaches. And I support clients of all identities, backgrounds, and body sizes. There are so many real challenges to navigating this world of ours, but let’s see if we can carve out some more freedom and joy for you within it.
