My name is Jess, I have experience working with adults, teens & children. My specialties are treating trauma related disorders, complex trauma, sexual abuse, post-traumatic stress, attachment, grief/loss & foster care/adoption. I also specialize in treating co-occurring anxiety, emotional & behavioral regulation concerns and adjustment issues. I am trained & certified in Eye Movement Desensitization Therapy (EMDR), an evidenced based trauma therapy. I also utilize Psychodynamic, Emotion Focused & Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients recognize, accept & cope with feelings generated by their past and present experiences.
My approach to counseling is person-centered. I acknowledge and understand that there are inherent feelings of discomfort that come with vulnerability. Which is why I value the process of building rapport, establishing trust and forming a secure attachment within the therapeutic alliance.
