My name is Jessica Hodges. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a Certified Substance Abuse counselor in the state of Virginia. I practice from a person-centered modality while working with my clients to develop treatment goals. I specialize in addiction, anxiety, and emotional regulation. I am most comfortable in treating clients aged 18 and older. I believe that as long as my clients aim for improved mental health, we can work together to achieve that! I believe in open and honest communication with my clients. Full transparency with professional boundaries is essential in encouraging change.
Person-Centered therapy is my primary approach. I believe in meeting my clients where they are while helping them to reach where they want to be. I also utilize Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution Focused, and Mindfulness interventions.
I approach goal setting by encouraging clients to identify their goals for therapy, as they are the experts in their own lives! I use their identified goals and work with them on creating measurable objectives to ensure progress is being made and services are adequate to address their presenting needs.
