Clients who see me are often drawn to doing emotional and cognitive work, wanting to explore new perspectives and unlearn patterns that no longer serve them, while also tending to their body and spirit. They want to carve out their own path to healing, one that speaks to their values, culture, and personal needs. They want to embrace evidence-based approaches, while also having space to be creative and lean into their own wisdom. They have usually experienced loss, trauma and/or a form of violence (interpersonal, war, self, workplace). They are bravely ready for change.
I first learned about grief and trauma from lineages that predate therapy and western culture. Understanding beliefs and approaches to healing that honor our body and utilize the medicines of our planet and ancestors is important to me. I believe there are many paths to healing and as your therapist, will remain committed to supporting you in finding yours.
