My professional interests lie in working with individuals who are beginning the process or have had bariatric surgery. As a gastric sleeve patient myself in 2015, I recognized the need for more professional mental health support throughout, and years beyond, the bariatric surgery process. I strive to assist my clients in cultivating a healthy relationship with food and lasting changes during their bariatric journey, and the years following. I am also passionate about, and have experience in, treating individuals with mood disorders, substance use disorders, personality disorders, and criminogenic thinking.
I primarily work within a cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) framework, but will incorporate trauma-informed care, DBT skills, motivational interviewing, solution-focused and person-centered interventions to help each client reframe the way they see themselves, others, and their current stressors to best achieve their desired outcomes.
The most important factor in our work together is therapy is about and for you, and ultimately it is my responsibility to provide the empowerment and skills for you to cultivate your best self. My goal is not to have a life-long client, but for my client to have life-long skills, security and happiness within themselves once our work together is complete.
