I am a therapist with ADHD, so I love working with clients who have ADHD. I think our similar brains strengthen our understanding of each other and therefore our therapeutic connection. I will never tell you to just “try harder” or “buy a planner” or other things that neurotypicals have said to you (although I do love some good office supplies). Everyone with ADHD is different and deserves personalized exploration of their needs and barriers to help manage symptoms and achieve functioning goals. I also love working with couples who have ADHD, including mixed neurotype couples who are working to better understand one another.
I take a systemic and relationship-based approach to therapy. My training is in systems theory, which states that individuals develop, change, and make meaning out of their lives through interactions and relationships with others. I seek to get to know my clients on a deep level to provide a safe space for exploring their unique experiences and perspectives.
I highly value anti-racism, anti-oppression, and feminism in my approach. I work to challenge harmful narratives in our culture while working with clients to find and live their true values. To support this, I like to integrate interventions from other theories including feminist theory and intersectionality to create a treatment plan personalized to you.

This online group is for adults who feel like they don't quite belong in straight or queer spaces, to explore the issues unique to bisexual and pansexual folks. Our group's focus is on building community, exploring identity, and helping you to live authentically as a bi or pan human. We strive to provide a space where you feel safe to discuss things other people may not understand. This is an open group, so feel free to drop in anytime. If you're interested, feel free to email me or our co-leader, Veronica Botsford, at veronica@alignedmindtherapywa.com
