My name is Jennifer Van Loy and I am a licensed clinical social worker with a background working with children, teens and adults. I have a non-judgmental, collaborative and strengths based perspective and will work alongside you to support your goals. I have a humanistic, secular (non-religious) approach that is informed by an understanding of how each person has unique strengths, challenges, and aspirations. At times, each of us can feel overwhelmed by the demands on our time and energy or feel stuck in a role that no longer feels authentic.
I have spent decades working with families impacted by trauma, substance use, foster care, adoption, and systemically oppressed populations. . I have specialized training in early childhood (0-5), depression, anxiety, neuro-diverse individuals, those with learning differences, and LGBTQIA individuals.
I want to support my clients in reducing current distress and to support them in achieving their goals. During our work together I will continue to check in with you about your goals and whether they are being addressed or have shifted. I want to spend our first session getting to know you better and learning more about your concerns and goals.
