Life is challenging! My goal at Healing Minds Counseling is to help you build the skills it takes to work through difficult feelings and situations. We will work together to incorporate techniques that are appropriate to you in a safe work environment. I will help identify emotions that can keep us stuck in unhealthy places. I have worked with clients facing issues of self-harm, depression, anxiety, anger, etc. with great success. I am kind, compassionate, patient, and willing to go the extra mile to help you reach your goals.
I use interventions in CBT, play therapy, sand tray therapy, DBT, and mindfulness. I've helped clients work through crisis, trauma, depression, anxiety, bipolar, personality disorders, grief, phobia, gender dysphoria, substance disorders, self-harm, and anger.
I utilize a variety of therapy approaches at Healing Minds, with an emphasis on cognitive behavioral techniques mixed with compassion, humor, and genuine positive regard for the client's wellbeing. My own personal background with trauma helps me empathize with clients. I give clients the very same treatment I would want if the roles were reversed.
