I believe a strong foundation for mental health consists of three things; a healthy self esteem, self compassion and mindfulness. Research has shown how important self compassion is to a happy life. Unfortunately society does not support self compassion as we are told we are selfish, self absorbed or weak if we are compassionate to ourselves.
I have been a Social Worker for 30 yrs with experience in working with individuals with traumatic brain injuries, mental health issues, individuals in crisis and individuals wanting to improve their mental health.
