My approach to therapy is best described as integrative and collaborative with an emphasis in client-centered therapy. I acknowledge that the therapeutic relationship is the most important part of treatment and work to foster a safe environment in which clients feel comfortable and safe. I use a mix of evidenced based practices including, but not limited to, cognitive-behavioral, collaborative problem solving, ACT and interpersonal therapy. Client feedback is always incorporated in order to individualize treatment.
While I work with a variety of mental health concerns, I have specialized training with eating disorders and my approach is consistent with the Health At Every Size (HAES) model. I'm part of the Columbia River Eating Disorder Network and work collaboratively with clients and their treatment team to help resolve the stress around body image and eating.
I believe we all have patterns that used to keep us safe, but no longer serve us. With a safe and supportive environment we can all make changes that serve our current life situations. I hope to work in collaboration to create that space in therapy. I offer free 15 minute phone or video consultations to help determine goodness of fit for us both.
