Sometimes we lose our way in life or we are inhibited by past trauma/grief that can leave us overwhelmed and confused. I believe that you can't always choose your circumstances in life, but you can choose to overcome them. I also believe that you have the power to manage/control your thoughts and feelings instead of allowing them to control you. My goal is to help you work through those past or current issues, overcome those difficult circumstances in life, and to help you gain control over your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to help enhance your well-being.
I enjoy working with both adults and children on issues including depression, trauma/PTSD, anxiety, AD/HD, behavioral issues, grief/loss, relational issues, and other issues surrounding family dynamics. With children, I also utilize play therapy and sand tray therapy in order to help them process and resolve their issues.
I'm able to provide specialized therapies including Neurofeedback, which is a program to help re-train the brain at the core level in order to teach self-regulation of brain function. I also provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) which is used to resolve traumatic memories, resulting in healthier day to day functioning.
