We often hold on to thoughts and feelings that seem too overwhelming to talk about. This is a space that welcomes all that you may be keeping inside. There is relief in finally being able to sit down and express whatever is on your mind. I am here to listen. My therapeutic approach integrates applied psychological theory with creative processes such as drawing, painting, and sculpture to support clients in deepening self-understanding and in becoming more at peace with themselves. Through art making and verbal processing we can work through and learn how to cope with difficult emotions and experiences.
I help people access their inner strengths and creativity, and find hope and meaning in life. I listen carefully, ask exploratory questions, and really get to know my clients. Together we start to notice life themes and make sense of things. My clients often find that with insight and understanding comes improved mood and new adaptive behaviors.
The only thing you need to do to start therapy is to show up (and fill out a few forms). I will guide, and we will work together. No prior art experience is needed, and sessions are individualized to honor each persons’ needs and uniqueness.
