Experiencing several significant losses and dealing with my own physical health issues earlier in life served to help me recognize a deep sensitivity for the pain that people carry. As a therapist it is imperative to me that I do not ask my clients to go somewhere I am not willing to go. I seek to create spaces that are safe, welcoming and stable for client's experiencing distress from past or present. As our nervous systems have created ways to adapt and survive, I believe in the exploration and healing from the deepest parts of ourselves.
Along with my formal education, I am a fully trained EMDR therapist and continuing to work in the field of embodiment and somatic work. With a background in painting and expressive arts work, I utilize creative strategies to welcome openness and awareness into the therapeutic relationship.
I am committed to advocate and create space for those to seek to be empowered and free from shame. We are many parts of a whole self and it is important to honor perseverance, respect the path of resiliency and be a part of the healing process. This process is the space where curiosity meets belonging.
