As your therapist, I cannot change how a person acts or reacts to situations, I will not try to fix you, or know what exactly you are going through or feeling. As your therapist, I will try to help you find your own strength, to give you a safe place to discuss what is going on in your life, and support you in finding your correct path forward. As your therapist, I will not assume what is best for you or judge why you are seeking therapy. During this process, I will always remember that you are your own expert but will collaborate with you on how to make the hard aspects of your life a bit easier.
The approach during therapy is determined by the individual and their particular needs, which can include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Client-centered therapy, and Play Therapy while utilizing a Strengths-Based approach to assist the individual in reaching their identified therapy goals.
When working with a client, the therapeutic relationship between the client and therapist is extremely important, building trust in a safe space is the base for the therapeutic process and fostering healing and change. While I am a Certified Play Therapist working with children and adolescents, I also have experience and knowledge working with adults.
