I have had the honor of working in the mental health field for over 30 years helping those facing life's challenges. My clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults. My formal education and training is in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in trauma and trauma-related conditions. The psychiatric/mental health conditions I treat include depression and anxiety disorders, stress/trauma-related disorders, LGBTQ issues, attention deficit conditions, interpersonal difficulties, and adjustment issues related to a wide variety of life circumstances, changes, and challenges.
My approach is to always focus on the neuroscience of well-being. Overcoming challenges rests in one's neurobiology as we work together toward a better understanding of an individual's circumstances. Each client requires an individualized approach to achieve their goals so flexibility is key through the use of various research-based modalities.
In addition to my experience in the mental health field, I'm also a certified fitness professional offering a unique skill set combining health and fitness. The connection between the mind and body is indisputable and the importance of one’s psychological well-being as it relates to making positive lifestyle changes and achieving personal goals is critical.
