I believe in using a strengths-based approach, self-compassion, and appropriate goal-setting to help individuals refocus their lives. This requires a strong therapeutic rapport, understanding where an individual has been; the environments, experiences, and forces that have helped shape them; and where they strive to be. Therapy is a collaboration between client and therapist, and I take a curious and empathetic approach with all of my clients.
I am Clinical Psychologist licensed in New Jersey and Alabama, and I treat a wide range of mental-health concerns, including anxiety, depression and mood disorders, the outcomes of trauma exposure, relationship issues, and coping with the multi-dimensional effects of medical conditions.
When appropriate, I incorporate mindfulness, progressive muscle relaxation and other techniques to focus on the present moment and to slow down and savor life. I regard it as a privilege to be a part of people’s lives, and to be privy to their thoughts and feelings, and I aim to handle clients with respect and dignity commensurate with that privilege.
