Our past experiences, how they affect our world views, ourselves, and others are important. We all have good and bad experiences but sometimes the bad ones can leave us with emotional scars and painful memories. For example, we might find ourselves feeling anxious, depressed, angry, violent, passive, scared, intimidated, or overly pleasing. Some may turn to alcohol, other drugs, unhealthy coping strategies or avoid people and life altogether. You're not alone. Don't be ashamed, think you're different, or think that something's wrong with you. I'm here to lend a listening ear and psychologically assist you through those challenges.
I identify myself as a generalist but most of my experience is in treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma. My approach is that I meet you where you're at in your journey in life. We explore and process past experiences, both good and bad and use them to help you understand who you are and why you behave, think, and feel the way you do.
I understand that some may feel ashamed to ask for help or that asking for help means you're weak, "crazy" or broken. None of them are true! Mental health is health care. For example, depression and anxiety are common health issues just like high blood pressure and high cholesterol, and if you're anxious about seeking help, I assure you that it's normal.
