I love to help clients identify and break harmful patterns of behavior and work towards a healthier, more sustainable, balance that improves their lives. My style is compassionate, yet direct and transparent. I see problematic behaviors as coping mechanisms for underlying stressors/emotional experiences that need processing. I have extensive experience working with clients with eating disorders and addictions. As a former HS teacher, I enjoy working with young adults. I believe that relationships heal. In every case, I consider clients' contexts, which have great impact on their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Mindfulness practice is built-in to my approach.
I have worked with many different types of clients, for a variety of presenting concerns. In all cases, I strive to help clients find balance that allows them to enjoy their lives. I have experience at higher levels of care, with a focus on eating disorder and addiction treatment.
I utilize Gottman techniques for enhancing couples' relationships and increasing healthy communication. I also enjoy leading process groups, where clients work together to heal and build confidence connecting, which fosters living with greater purpose and presence. I utilized IFS, CBT, DBT, Emotion-focused and Experiential methods in my approach.
